Protective function of the forest is at least as important. Is manifested both by providing habitats for some species of plants and animals (forest biodiversity is a true holding the planet), and by setting land, surface water absorption and regulation, air purification, wind speed reduction Forests retention and storage capacity in soil of about 10,000 cubic meters of water per year per hectare.

Oxygen is removed from the forest streams transported by air, sometimes at great distances, refreshing atmosphere above the polluted cities and industrial areas. It is widely acknowledged the positive role that vegetation plays in the forest air fresheners, it is a shield against the wind, stopping and reducing noise. Today, human settlements are inconceivable without the parks, green areas and forests, which are true barrier against air pollution by dust and gas, radioactive pollution and noise.
Forest vegetation around industrial areas with noxious fumes contribute to air purification by dispersing pollutants, dust retention, stopping the spread of harmful substances and noise attenuation. Destruction of habitats by human activities led to the extinction of plant and animal species.

Did you know ...

Massive forest reduces soil erosion and reduce sediment load of water, keeping less clogged riverbeds, streams and lakes?
